The only side effect I had from my 2 Moderna shots was pain at the injection site. It hurt worse than a flu shot or tetanus shot.

Most people don't have any serious side effects. But ask if you've had allergies or reactions to other shots.

As an aside, the Moderna and Pfizer shots use mRNA vaccine technology. They inject *no* virus into your body, The J&J, normal flu shot and other vaccines either weaken a virus, or the "chop up"/kill the virus and inject that into us.

The mRNA vaccines inject a sort of "road map" of what the virus looks like. That's a new idea and it has worked out very well. The Moderna and Pfizer COVID-19 vaccines have been given to millions and millions of people so we have a huge number of people and recent statistics. Those stats scream they're both effective and have low side effects.

That mRNA ideas have also been used to create an "MS vaccine" -- but only in mice.

This is cutting edge/experimental stuff -- who knows if it'll work in humans -- but it's one glimmer of hope for us MSers. :-)

Louise, I had the J&J and waiting for the booster

I got Moderna early July, and After my second dose I felt a little flu like but by the end of the week I was back. As for my MS, I have had no additional symptoms and my usual relapses have been just about the same since before the pandemic. I trust science and reality. The science and real-life statistics *scream* the vaccines are safe and have fewer side effects than the typical flu or polio (etc.) vaccines -- we have millions and millions who have been given COVID-19 vaccines and thus lots of current statistics.

Meanwhile, we have over 1700 Americans per day dying of COVID-19, with the vast majority of them being unvaccinated. It's tragic.
