May I ask you people how many of you had a lumber puncture to diagnose the MS? When I found out I had MS I had my fourth lower back surgery and I was going through cancer and they wouldn't give me a spinal everybody else did but not me. I'm going to the doctor Tuesday and I just I am on the edge of my seat constantly. If anyone just wants to talk get back to me I wouldn't mind talking either today. Thank you everyone for all your great advice! They will everybody!
My spinal tap was no big deal. Felt like a brick laying on the back, and a minor pinprick. No real pain. Some people have a headache after but nothing major.
My doctor said I have a lot of different things wrong with me and if I had LP it wouldn't so if I had MS definitively. So I'm facing a lot of testing starting with an EMG. And that my foot pain will most likely be there for good. And then I have to go to a neurosurgeon they want me to have that neck fusion. And next month I'm having dental implants put in. I want to tell all of you thank you for your support I am so grateful for that. I hope everyone has wonderful holidays and please stay well!
My insurance wouldn't accept the diagnosis without a lumbar puncture. Even with over 20 lesions on my MRI, still needed that LP.
I had a similar experience as everyone else 11 years ago. Multiple MRIs showing the lesions on my brain and spine that they could tell happened at different times. Nerve testing, tons of blood work and the spinal tap showing the bands. Good luck warrior! You got this 🧡
