I was recently divorced when I was diagnosed. I’m a very sincere Christian and use prayer to better cope, yet rushing off to heaven is terribly temptingHow can I fight the resultant depression?

I was brought up Catholic and remember being taught the only reason Judas went to hell is he killed himself so please resist the urge of suicide. I was really angry and depressed then to a flier and made myself smile in really stressful moments or when I was alone and feeling down. I was sure I looked like I lost it when I first tried this but, overtime, I actually started to feel happier. I know it's not a drug and I know it sounds silly but it's free!

I'm repeating the importance of vitamin d-3. Especially in the colder dark states in winter. Like Oregon and Washington and of course Alaska.

I should add that you do also need counseling on a regular basis. A good one who is also a Christian. Bible based counseling. I need it too I am planning to see if I can find one that can do visits by video since I am homebound.
or if a person is of another religion then get a counselor who is also in the same religion.

I do not know. But I do know that depression meds can be very concerning as they are mind altering (I think) drugs. You have to discuss with your doctors. They can have serious potential side effects. Each person is different so you may have to try it to find out how it will work for you.
I am a Christian too, so certainly we know that a lot of prayer is also needed. Ask the Lord to guide you and help you and see what your doctors recommend. I also know that it can and does help a lot of people so that is good to know. It might be worth trying.
I hope you find a good one to help you and that you feel better right away!
Prayers UP!!
