Hello,

I have had onset of symptoms that started in October of 2021. Its been almost 5 months and the symptoms are still here, though sometimes they do seem to get better, but don't resolve completely.

Can these still go away? Have yours gone away? Or am I stuck with these symptoms forever now?

I know people say "the damage is done" but I hear that the brain rewires itself. Is it possible time will help my brain find new connections that stop the symptoms

I am hopeful they will fade with time. My neuro said it can take years, and some will never go, but you can rewire somewhat and with interventions, some things will improve. It's hard to be uncertain... it's not like other things where you take a pill and it's gone in a few days, but think of the good news and be super grateful for every improvement. It is a step forward and not back.

I have had MS for 48 years and the first 20+ years I was on a relapse/active- flare 2 or 3 times a year. Each relapse, although controlled with steroids, caused additional symptoms from tingling, to numbness, to thickness of speech and spasticity. For me, over the years, the tingling, numbness and thickness of speech have gotten less predominant and, in some respect, disappeared. The spasticity remains and its tightness and stiffness caused me to add a quad cane to my arsenal. Seasonal changes cause more tightness in my spasticity.

I do not want to be negative however, even though you are not in an active flare damage resulting from previous flares can remain however, can become less predominant.

The Very Best To You @A MyMSTeam Member !!!

I have been thinking of lions mane too, I just wasn't sure about the dosing... I'll try anything to help this go away. I figure it will either help, or it won't, but if it doesn't hurt, I'll try it!

I will definitely take a dmt if diagnosed. My dr wants me to do rituximab. I have been taking gabapentin as needed, and have baclofen which I haven't taken yet out of fear, I will be tonight because my spasms and cramps have been bad the last few days. But of course, for me less is more. I want to try lions mane and alpha liphoic acid as they seem to be potentially remyelinating based off animal studies
