I have had MS for 22 years. I’ve been on both. But since you are on the edge of deciding an guys do tend to progress faster i would seriously think about other options. I have been doing more natural ways of decreasing my symptoms. Changing diet helps alot, check out Pam Barthas book. Detoxing will decrease toxins, metals, etc. in your body. Alternative or Functional medicine dr.’s are a good way to do this. I’m a a diy ‘er so i just do alot of reading an research. Good luck.

We (neurologist and late wife) talked about Tysabri about 18 years ago. PML was a real concern. Decided not to proceed because my MS was very mild. I believe the PML numbers are considerably lower as more people have been treated with Tysabri since that time. Did you test positive for the JC virus...I did. That makes it even a larger concern. Even then, if my MS was worse...I'd go ahead with the Tysabri. So many positive results from it. Good Luck and wish you all the best.

I was put on Copaxone 22 years ago when I was Dx'd. I don't know if it's why I haven't progressed...won't know. But everything I've read is to start DMDs as soon as possible.

I was on Aubagio, I stopped because of two side effects. My MRI was stable so it wasn’t a simple decision to stop. Now I’m thinking about using Mavenclad.
You don’t sound like someone who should immediately start with medicines but maybe it will help in the long run that’s always hard te say.
Good luck with deciding.
