I just started Kesimpta about 12 hours ago from the date of this post, and it has wiped me out. I was just curious if there are others on Kesimpta and what your experiences were? Any tips on how to beat the side effects?

Members responded warmly to a question about Kesimpta experiences, with many confirming that the first injection tends to be the hardest and that fatigue and discomfort improve over time. Several members shared helpful tips including taking 1000mg of Tylenol before injecting, letting the alcohol pad dry fully to avoid stinging, staying well-hydrated with electrolytes, and planning a low-key day after the injection. A recurring theme was encouragement and hope, with many noting that Kesimpta has helped stabilize their MS with stable MRIs and fewer relapses.

I’ve had the first 3 doses without any problems. 😀

The burning sensation at the injection site is from not letting the alcohol from the pad dry completely.

I started Kisempta in May. My neurologist had me premed prior to the first 3 injections. I took 1000mg tylenol, 10 mg pepcid and 10 mg zyrtec. I took them the day before the injection, day of the injection and day after. He also said to push your fluid intake on those days too ( something with electrolyes) I used smart water and liquid IV- powdered electrolyte mix you can get from Walgreens. Increasing your fluids helps rid your body of those b cells being lysed. I feel this was very helpful in minimizing side effects. Good luck!!

I usually get tired the day of, but I attribute that more to the prophylactic Benadryl that I was advised to take one hour before my injection. Kesimpta has really helped to give me at least a couple of good days each month.

I've been on Kesimpta since March and it has helped me tremendously. I don't take any pain meds before injections and only use something if I have a dull headache.
