I got rid of my regular neurologist because my MS Specialist is a neurologist and takes care of all my medical needs. So I found going to the regular one was a waste of time and money. He did nothing for me at all except refer me to other doctors for any issues I had. Now I’m at a one stop shop. But that’s just my situation, everyone is different.

I've used both type of neurologists and "fired" both types too. I think it comes down to who you think is caring for you best.

I use a Neurologist. Most of my visits are over the phone, but I figure it could help me in the long run in case I need to apply for disability. They have me in an oral medication that is working well…Gilenya. Good luck to you!

When my general Neuologist figured out what was going on,he said MS.He then reffered me to a Neurologist that does nothing but MS.

Personally I wanted a neurologist that had a good number of MS patients and knowledge with/of the disease. After a decade+ with MS I had had my fill of doctors' dumb looks thinking I was making things up.
