Well if your disabled you should have Medicare and Medicaid. They pay for it. But if you have property or money they will use those monies first. I believe you will have to give up all your owned things at least 10 years before getting into a facility unless you’re gonna to private pay and keep everything. If you live in a apartment then your insurance should pay.,if you’re still working then you can’t go to a facility but can probably get some home health which your doctor would order. Not sure if that is possible or not if you are still working. And if so hopefully you have a good family system to help if not when you need some extra help. There is also assisted living where you live in a apartment get a meal a day and have a healthcare person check on you from time to time. Not sure on that cost honestly and if insurance helps or if it’s all out of pocket. And it’s a lot more expensive than living in a apartment but the price does include other things.

assisted living when you pay is over $7000 a month, per my husband who WORKS IN ONE. that will be YOUR income or your FAMILY'S income, or part insurance (medicare etc) but most of the burden is ON YOU
if you end up in an OLD FOLKS HOME paid for by society, expect little care no frills and no guarantees you wont end up face first in your food dish and smother cuz at those places no one gives a shit
