It’s just been a lot, tired of thinking ‘why me’…
I read your post and those from others and hope to attack this with the same positivity!

DMT meds slow progression. Nuvigil or provigil help with fatigue.

Fatigue is one of the most common symptoms of multiple sclerosis (MS) and can take on different forms. It is a multidimensional symptom that can affect the body and mind in individual ways. Here are some key points about MS-related fatigue:

- Forms of Fatigue:
- Physical Fatigue: Causes muscle weakness, muscle spasms, spasticity, and other symptoms that impair physical activity.
- Cognitive Fatigue: Affects attention, thinking, memory, and other cognitive functions.
- Psychosocial Fatigue: Reduces the desire to go out or connect with people.

- Lassitude: A particular characteristic of fatigue associated with MS, defined as severe tiredness that may occur daily despite sleeping well and can be worsened by heat and humidity. Lassitude can come on suddenly and often hinders everyday activities.

- Measurement Tools:
- Modified Fatigue Impact Scale: Evaluates physical, cognitive, and psychosocial impacts of MS.
- Fatigue Severity Scale: Another tool used to measure fatigue in MS.

- Impact on Daily Life:
- MS fatigue is typically more severe than normal fatigue and may interfere with work, school, and daily tasks.
- It is a primary reason people with MS have to reduce work hours or stop working altogether.

- Descriptions from MyMSTeam Members:
- "My body just shuts down."
- "Utter weariness."
- "Everything just feels slow."
- "Like taking three sleeping pills and still trying to function normally."
- "My brain and body just stop working."

- Cycle of Fatigue:
- Exhaustion, pain, and other MS symptoms can lead to depression.
- Depression can lead to lower levels of physical activity, bringing on spasticity and making it hard to sleep.
- This cycle results in fatigue leading to even more fatigue.

Understanding and measuring fatigue in MS is crucial for managing this common symptom effectively.

i lost almost everything that was important, my wife and kids, our ranch, moved in with my folks, pissed off a lot of people,
lost a girlfriend or three, and more before i woke up. never really accepted it, just learned to adjust body and mind. but never gave up my faith. keep up the fight. you are stronger than you give yourself credit for.
