oh and some insurances do cover it, and some don't. You probably will need your Neurologist to authorize it and then you can also see if you can get co pay assistance once you find out if it will be covered by your insurance.
Ask the drug manufacturers. Many of them have programs to help patients get the medication.
Depends on a couple of factors:
The insurance coverage
And the medication
Most front line MS meds (DMTs) are generally covered and if not, the pharmaceutical company can help. Of course, there are qualifying factors like income. Many older meds are generic now and you should be able to get those without a problem. MS Lifelines is great and Accredo for Vulmerity is quite helpful.
For instance, I have medicare with a BC/BS supplement policy I pay for myself. I can get virually any medication, though there are exceptions on occasion. I recently started on Vulmerity and that was covered, and my co-pay is $4.20 or similar for a 90-day supply. I've never had infused meds and can't speak to that.
There are resources for help. Check around and you may need to bark up a couple of trees to get what you need.
Well today I received medication from MS lifelines. Grateful but it’s only a week supply? Idk what’s next?
