To stay cool in the heat, other than using a cooling vest, you can consider the following options:

- Specialized Cooling Clothes: These garments contain a gel-like substance that can be chilled before use and provide cooling effects for several hours or days. They come in various forms, including neck wraps, bandanas, hats, and wristbands.
- Personal Fans: These can be worn around your neck to provide a constant breeze.
- Sunshades and Parasols: These help keep you shaded, especially when in a car or outdoors.
- Window Shades: Stick directly onto the inside of your car window to block out the sun.
- Frozen Peas: As a quick hack, you can use frozen peas from the freezer to cool down temporarily.

These methods can help manage heat sensitivity effectively.

Yes, there are tons of options! My personal favorites are a headband from Oro Sports that you can put ice packs in so their is an ice pack at the base of your neck in the back. They also have wrist wraps that you can put ice packs in. I like them because the material is more athletic and breathable and dries quickly vs cotton. Polar Products also makes these insert you can soak in water and freeze then put in your bra and surprisingly you can’t tell they are there and they don’t get my clothes wet or anything. But, you can find a whole list of cooling products on the National MS Society’s page. Just go to their website, search ‘cooling products’ and a document called ‘cooling product vendor list’ should come up and that has different companies that make cooling products and some discount codes!

When I have to go out, I have a cooling scarf, cooling hat, and a couple special tops that are supposed to help me stay cool. I have a cooling headband but it doesn’t help. I have gauze pants that breathe wonderfully. Drink lots of water and don’t forget electrolytes. I drink Propel.
