I just read an article about MS and hiccups. I have been having regular bouts of long lasting hiccups for a little over a year now every time I eat. It starts after the first couple of bites. It lasts anywhere from 15-30 minutes. I was diagnosed with MS in 2018 and very rarely got hiccups prior. If I did they only lasted maybe 30 seconds to a minute. I mentioned my hiccups to my neurologist and he said it’s not an MS thing. The article sounds very much like it is.

Neurologists can be a bit stupid, sadly.

So I get hiccups all the time when I eat too fast and yes they will last forever if I don’t suck on a sugar cube!🥰

Yes I agree that neurologists can and are stupid a lot of times. I was in Arizona for a year and at first after I was diagnosed and seeing my neurologist here to make it easier I tried finding one down there. The first one I went to talked to me and treated me like nothing was wrong with me. I only went to her that one time and then tried another one and she was much better. She was caring and understanding so I continued with her until I came back to Minnesota almost a year later and went back to the one I had here. I’ve seen multiple statements from people that neurologists have the worst bedside manner. I do agree with that! It’s very hard to find one that is caring and sincere.
