I am an m.s.-er and have been for decades. I have RRMS. Coincidentally, am a Microbiologist/Immunologist. I have been following various MS treatment info for years. As you know, progress is frustratingly slow. Stem-cell therapy is unproven and not approved by our slow-moving FDA. My advice is for you to really dig into the scientific literature and gain as much understanding and insight as you can. If you do that you will better able to ask intelligent questions and better gauge the answers you receive. This ‘solution’ is far from being fool-proof, of course. I have been to The Stem Cell Institute in Panama twice. It's been many years ago (2014 and 2016 I believe). I believe it stabilized my MS. I have not had a relapse since that time. I would have kept going back, but it's very expensive. Back then it was about $25,000 each time. They don't make any grandeous claims, but many people have had great outcomes. They are extremely professional and transparent and take very good care of you. They use umbilical cord stem cells. Dr. Riordan has a clinic in Houston where they treat joints with stem cells, but not MS. I asked my neurologist about the procedure and he said that he thought that stem cell treatment had a place in the treatment of MS, but until they could target the actual lesion(s) that it was kind of a scatter shot approach. The stem cells at the Institute are injected into your vein and abdomen, thus it is not directly targeting your lesions. Check out their website and see what you think. I'm in Ottawa and waiting to get in the cell transplant department here at the Ottawa general hospital. There's stem cell transplant and mesychonel cell transplant. 2 different procedures. 2 different results for different MS..Many good results so far..Do your research. Again. Do your research.

I should add that I had my HSCT in Puebla, Mexico in July. That Clinic in my opinion is "World Class"! The 24/7 Support I received was AMAZING!

I was doing ParkRun a few weeks ago and I was wearing my bright orange MS Society tee shirt and when I reached the finish line, a woman came and said to me that she used to have MS. I questioned what she meant and she said she had stem cell therapy in Moscow and it's given her her life back again and now she can run 10Km when before she was in a mobility scooter.
I don't know how old she is but I estimate early to mid 40s. She said she's going to be paying for it for the rest of her life but she said it was definitely worth it to get her life back. Obviously, Moscow is probably out of the question at the moment but Mexico isn't. I read the brochure from the Mexico place and it looks good and patients are well looked after.
Speak to your neurologist first though to make sure you have the right sort of ms. There are criteria to meet to become eligible. She did tell me when I spoke to her but I forgot (sorry)
