I have learned the longer I sit the more I'm going to hurt when I get up or lay down so I have learned while I sit to lift my small weights also move my legs has mad a big difference u should try also changing my schedule eating dinner not to late n less water to late less trips to bathroom God Bless us always we not in this battle alone Amen

Thank you both for your feedback. This happens several times a day. Normally, I have to sit down to get some relief. Sometimes, I can stretch my back and relieve some of the pain. It interferes with most activities, even simple ones.

My experience with muscle spasms in my back are painful, excruciatingly, to where I can't move an inch without pain. I wouldn't describe it as a knife because it is every part of the muscle. That's just me though. I'm sure it's different for everyone. When it happens I take muscle relaxers. However it happens only like once every 7 years.
