Cataracts Or Near Sightedness Or MS?
A lot of comments here and I read many. I have had glasses for nearsightedness since I was in grade 4 so I’m used to blurry vision. I know my vision was sharper with correction and contacts but lately I think my vision has become worse even with my glasses. I used to have Sharper images without my glasses when reading close but not so much lately. Now my vision is better in morning and Worse at night. I do spend a lot of screen time that probably doesn’t help. I am 75 + now and about to… read more
good luck. had i known how much bright lights bother me I think I would have just gone with two pair, one sunglasses that i could actually read with and regular glasses. you don’t realize what will happen until it happens. Good luck .
I am 79 and had cataract surgery a couple of years ago. over time my vision has improved but i find if i go into someplace with really bright lights, like a grocery store my eyes almost close down. i had the combination glasses, they turn to moderate sun glasses in sunshine or bright lights. I have to wait awhile for the glasses to adjust to the bright lights, but then i can see better.
@A MyMSTeam Member - I read your post regarding cataracts & blurry vision. I'm in the same boat. Currently, my cataracts aren't severe enough for surgery., but I'm having trouble with vision. My glasses always feel like their dirty. I wash them but it doesn't seem to help. Both eyes are very dry, so I depend on Systane Complete eye drops, which I use continually during the day -- sometimes during the night too. I'm farsighted and computer focus is a challenge even with enlarged print. I'm can hardly wait for my next eye exam. Keep us posted on your cataract surgery please.
Sher9, Thanks for your answer.
Are combination glasses the ones that auto change in different lights? I had a pair like that many years ago, but since have not felt I had need for them and lately I don’t see them advertised much. It is something to think about if light end up bothering me, I’ll might have to have sunglasses with me all the time. After my 2nd eye is done in January, I’ll see how the light affects me, and when I get refit for glasses I’ll check with the optition about my options.
