Why she needs you to get neurocog testing, neurologist can't assess short or long term memory, speed of processing, executive function or other metric the neurocog testing does. The testing is a bitch to be honest as it is close to three hours and when it does you head will feel like a truck hit it. Neurocog testing should be done on all MS patients but isn't. I learned about it when I was at Cleveland Clinic and that was considered my baseline even though problems for my education level were already identified. This time it was worse.
@A MyMSTeam Member hiya sis, yea the steam is coming out and the watchtower for todays meeting really hit home for me, all the trials im going through.
@A MyMSTeam Member thank you for responding to my question, i would have liked to have said that to them but honestly i dont want any recommendation from her for no one, she'd send me to the worst person ever.
Yes, neurocognitive testing should be done for everyone when they are first diagnosed to establish a baseline. Look for a good neuropshcjologist in your area and get your neurologist to send you for neuropshych testing. Itis revealing and lets you know if there really is a problem that you have just dealt with. They also can send you for occupational therapy to try to address the issues they identify.
