You need to contact the National MS Society. The place to start is a link off from this page: (https://www.nationalmssociety.org/resources/get...).

The MS Society will have you go through some simple online training. Once you complete that, they can give you tips to advertise your group and put you in contact with local doctors and hospitals so that they can put you in contact with their patients.

The MS Society has done this a lot so take advantage of that.

Starting an MS support group in Kendallville, IN, is a wonderful initiative! Here are some steps you can follow to get started:

1. Identify Interest: Reach out to local healthcare providers, such as neurologists and therapists, to see if their patients might be interested in joining. Posting on local community boards or social media groups can also help gauge interest.

2. Find a Venue: Look for a space that is accessible and comfortable for everyone. This could be a community center, library, or even a quiet coffee shop.

3. Set a Schedule: Decide how often the group should meet. Monthly meetings are common, but you might adjust based on what potential members prefer.

4. Plan the First Meeting: Outline a loose agenda for the first meeting to include introductions and a discussion about what members hope to gain from the group. Keeping it open and flexible will allow for everyone’s input.

5. Promote Your Group: Use social media, local newspapers, and community bulletin boards to advertise your group. Healthcare providers might also be willing to inform their patients about it.

6. Prepare Resources: Have some materials available about MS, perhaps from reputable sources like the National Multiple Sclerosis Society or the Multiple Sclerosis Association of America. These can provide valuable information and show members where they can seek reliable advice online.

Remember, the key is to create a supportive and inclusive environment where everyone feels comfortable sharing and participating.
