It sounds like you're going through a challenging time with your MS symptoms. Here are some strategies and considerations based on my knowledge base:
Strategies for Ataxia and Speech Difficulties:
- Physical Therapy: Incorporating exercises specifically for ataxia can help improve coordination and balance. Your PT can guide you with tailored exercises.
- Occupational Therapy: This can help with fine motor skills and daily activities, potentially reducing the impact of ataxia.
- Speech Therapy: A speech therapist can provide exercises and techniques to help manage stuttering and other speech difficulties.
Considerations for MRI:
- Urgency: Given the dramatic changes in your symptoms, it might be wise to move up your MRI. This can provide more immediate insights into any new lesions or changes in your condition.
- Consult Your Neuro: Since your MS neurologist is aware, discuss the urgency of the MRI with them. They can provide a more informed recommendation based on your recent symptoms and history.
What Has Helped Others:
- Stretching and Range of Motion Exercises: These can help with spasticity and improve overall mobility.
- Energy-Saving Techniques: Spreading out tasks and sitting whenever possible can help manage fatigue and conserve energy.
What Hasn't Worked:
- Avoiding Hot Water: Hot water can exacerbate symptoms, so it's best to avoid it during baths or showers.
Additional Tips:
- Home Modifications: Consider a home evaluation to make your living space more accessible and safe.
- Adaptive Devices: Using assistive devices can help with mobility and daily tasks.
It's important to stay in close communication with your healthcare team and follow their advice. If your symptoms are worsening, don't hesitate to seek immediate medical attention.

I don't know tons about strokes, but a 3 week long stroke sounds like a long time. I didn't even know that could happen.
