My 72 year old sister just had a knee replacement. After two weeks, she is walking and says she’s one spot that throbs when she elevates it.
I haven't had one but know several people that have. #1 thing I have heard is do what the therapist tell you. Do you exercises! #2 Move-
As a Massage Therapist I can tell you, don't become stagnant just setting. You of course don't need to run marathons while healing. You have muscles and attachments that need rehabilitation. If you don't move they can shorten up and you will have a more then normal difficult time to rehabilitation.
I haven't had any personal experience with knee surgery~but a family member did{able bodied} make sure you have or can get personal care help when sent home~don't refuse the help in any way. Transportation help for P.T. and doctor visit when needed, Good Luck~
