were there any of you who observed the fast during the MS, since I am a Muslim, Ramadan will soon begin and I want to fast, but I am tormented by questions about how my condition will be if I observe the fast.
I intermittent fast 6 days a week. Started prior to SSPMS and still am 3 years later. Lost almost 50 lbs (yes I was overweight) and don't think it has made my MS better or worse. I am happy with the weight loss though and has made my falls, at least getting me upright from them easier on the people helping me get upright, especially my wife, glad I lost the weight.
No, eat a balanced diet.
I'm being completely serious, I often forget to eat for any number of hours and have been fine for years. I know I'm not as able as when I was first diagnosed but I'm to understand that is what is expected with MS. I think the best life with MS is about what you do eat and not how long you chose not to.
How long do you fast for. I only eat two meals a day and it’s fine for my ms.
You should definitely talk to your doctor if you're having concerns about fasting and your MS. The doctor can give you safe instruction. 🙂
