I don't know if there is a specific disability program to help pay mortgages. After reading that article it seems like there is SSDI and SSI and that is money you can use just like you would any paycheck. Hopefully someone else can give you a better answer

If you qualify for Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) due to your MS preventing you from working, the monthly benefits you receive can be used for any living expenses, including your mortgage payments. These benefits are designed to help replace lost income when MS symptoms make it impossible to continue working.

The amount you may receive through disability benefits depends on your work history and how much you've paid into Social Security taxes from past income. While the benefits aren't specifically earmarked for mortgage payments, you can use the monthly payments however you need to cover your essential living expenses. Many MyMSTeam members find the disability application process challenging, but understanding your options is important. If you're denied benefits initially, remember that you have the right to appeal the decision. It's recommended to document how MS impacts your ability to work when applying, as this can strengthen your case for receiving benefits.
