Yes, people with MS are more prone to urinary tract infections (UTIs). This is often due to bladder dysfunction that affects up to 90% of people with MS. Common bladder symptoms include:

- Frequent urination
- Urgency to urinate
- Difficulty controlling urination (incontinence)
- Problems starting or maintaining urine flow UTIs in MS often occur because people may not fully empty their bladder, allowing bacteria to grow. UTIs can trigger what's called a pseudo-exacerbation, where existing MS symptoms temporarily worsen. If you suspect a UTI, contact your healthcare provider right away as prompt treatment is important, especially if you're on immune-suppressing medications.

Common UTI symptoms include:
- Fever and chills
- Muscle aches
- Fatigue
- Increased urinary frequency

Make sure your keeping up w/water if you start your day drinking water 🚰 it helps you to keep up with it...Another reason is that I don't think we completely empty our bladders...It's all such fun!!

I was told by my Urologist in 1999, 25 years with MS, that I had Neurogenic bladder caused by the MS.

1st I will say that my layperson meaning of a Neurogenic bladder is one that no longer works properly.

2nd I will say that everything about our body has nerves communicating with muscles and MS can disrupt that communication.

3rd I will say that the muscles around our bladder stop functioning properly, thus we do not get proper messages for the urge to empty the bladder.

4th when these things are not working properly UTIs can differently occur.
