It's such a struggle to walk without tripping, especially on hot days. Foot drop causes me to constantly have to think about each step. I would like any input on possibly using a neutral sleeve. It's expensive, but might be worth it. I found this article about it: https://www.businesswire.com/news/home/20220308...

I was fitted with an FES device, it did work but I started to get cutting pains in the base of my spine so I gave it back for someone else to get the use out of it.

For foot drop management, there are several proven options to consider. An ankle foot orthosis (AFO) is a common solution that can help stabilize your ankle and keep your toes positioned properly while walking. Functional Electrical Stimulation (FES) devices are another option - these are battery-powered devices worn below the knee that use mild electrical currents to help lift your foot while walking. Since you mentioned hot days affecting your walking, it's important to note that heat can significantly impact MS symptoms and balance. During these times, you may want to consider additional support like a cane or cooling vest to help manage your symptoms. Many MyMSTeam members have found that combining different mobility aids with cooling strategies helps them maintain better stability and independence.

So Linda has just started with the carbon fiber ankle/foot brace. The purpose is to help her move her foot in a manner of strike heel/ roll foot forward. We are just at the beginning but so far it seems to help. She does use a walker/cane. But she seems to be doing better.
