Sarah, that was explained so that we all can understand. I researched this option through the Swiss Medical Group in Switzerland. I also researched the same procedure in northern Mexico where most of the staff come from San Diego. I am not sure why they do not put you in a bubble until your immune system comes back. There has not been anyone that has been able to give me a logical answer. Infections with zero immune system is a death sentence. Furthermore, There hasn't been any evidence that it will repair the damage Mylan. This is the real issue in my opinion concerning disability repair

Beat- MS specifically harvests a persons own stem cells, then kills off a person’s entire immune system with chemotherapy, than puts that persons own stem cells back in their body. The theory is those stem cells “don’t know” they have MS so they develop an immune system that does not attack itself. The risk…is dying from an infection while you have no immune system and are waiting for your body to build a new one. There are many countries that offer “stem cell infusions” at a very high price that don’t kill off your immune system first…and there is no guarantee that those stem cells are gonna benefit you in the way that you want. There are also other countries doing the same stem cell treatment that the U.S. is currently studying (also at a high price). My advice: do your research.

Beat-MS is a study of stem cell vs. leading ms drugs and there are certain eligibility requirements. Ultimately, I believe the outcome of the study will dictate whether stem cells will be the treatment of choice for ms in the future. We are a ways away from having all the data from it and the study is still ongoing.
