Diagnosis of PPMS, stable since diagnosed 2010, several larger sclerosis and quite a few small ones on MRI.
Recent MRI 2025 showed same large sclerosis, several more small ones.
@A MyMSTeam Member, not yet and currently only way us is autopsy which is much too late. It can be inferred if there is inflammation happening in WM, there is likely damage occuring in GM.
Interesting. My doctor has commented on old damage in my Grey matter on the MRI
Is there any way to measure gray matter issues?
Some thingss ttthat you can't see on an MRI , like grey matter damage is likely more responsible for symptoms. White matter damage which can be visualized on an MRI, is just a marker for active inflammation. It is all we have and the best we have, but only a piece of the whole story.
Lesions of any size can cause symptoms. the main issue is that no more are made or develop.
