I felt the same, try whatever might help. Acupuncture has eased my pain of burning feet and improves my energy levels. I don’t care if it’s ‘real’ or placebo effect, I’ll take it! 💜

That's a great question that I wondered too. Heard the same for stroke. In my experience it depends on who you ask. But where I've landed is- if I can afford it.. I'll try whatever might help

Does acupuncture help with MS symptoms?

Acupuncture may help some MS symptoms, though the evidence is still limited. Small studies and surveys show promising results, but larger clinical trials are needed to confirm these benefits.

Some people with MS have reported improvements in several areas:

- Pain relief
- Reduced spasticity
- Less numbness and tingling
- Better sleep
- Decreased fatigue
- Improved mood and reduced anxiety
- Better bladder function
- Enhanced walking ability

One recent study found that people with relapsing-remitting MS who received real acupuncture showed improvements in memory, learning, and felt less tired compared to those who received fake acupuncture.

However, it's important to know that acupuncture doesn't slow MS progression or prevent disability from worsening. Some benefits may be temporary and not last long-term. MyMSTeam members have mixed experiences. Some found acupuncture helpful for restful sleep and back pain relief. Others found it didn't help much or even temporarily worsened their pain and spasms.

Acupuncture is generally safe when done by a trained professional. It typically takes 6-10 sessions to know if it's working for you.

Talk with your healthcare provider before trying acupuncture to see if it's right for your situation.
