Are you experiencing horrible joint pain all over your body that feels worse at night?

You're definitely not alone in feeling this way. Many people with MS experience widespread pain that intensifies at night, and your "glass man" description really captures how fragile and painful it can feel.

Why Pain Feels Worse at Night

Several factors can make MS-related pain more intense when you're trying to rest:

* Reduced movement during sleep can worsen spasticity and stiffness
* Body positioning in bed can create extra tension in unsupported joints
* Fatigue from the day can trigger increased spasticity
* Tight muscles and pain make it harder to relax, creating a cycle

What Other Members Experience

MyMSTeam members describe similar experiences with joint and body pain:

* "My hands hurt ALL the time!"
* One member experiences "burning pain" in and below both knees
* Another shared: "I have excruciating neuropathic pain in my right hip (buttock) that radiates down my leg, causing terrible pain in my calf and foot. My lower back is always in pain"
* "I couldn't sleep because of spasms"

The pain can feel like burning, shooting, stabbing, stiffness, aching, or pins and needles. Some members also experience numbness alongside the pain.

Next Steps

Talk to your neurologist about what you're experiencing. There are treatments available for MS-related pain and nighttime symptoms that could help you get relief and better sleep.

I use muscle relaxers for any joint or muscle pain, I've even used Aleve sometimes
