I don't have suffer from mental illness, though there are people that will disagree with me. I know 3 people that suffer from depression and none of them have MS. I believe it depends on each person. We all deal with life differently.

btw, the main issue is knowing the difference between depression and despair-depression has physical and mental symptoms, despair is only mental and emotional. Besides, persons with diabetes or another permanent life-altering ailments have bouts of depression and/or despair. During the pandemic and even after, I've encountered dozens and dozens of people crying about being depressed-after helping them identify exactly what they're feeling/experiencing, I helped get out of their tailspins and help them realize it's actually despair, not depression.
From the articles on this site, it tends to be a yes. Personally, I don't believe there's a correlation.
