Does anyone else’s heart rate and stress level spike for no reason or out of the blue with their MS?
Just mention it to your doctor. When that happens again, you can try to lower your heart rate by breathing in through your nose for 4 seconds , hold it for 7 seconds and then slowly breathe out for 8 seconds through your mouth. This will lower your heart rate and help your body calm down if you are stressed
Joanna, I once had this problem, and I did not have cholesterol issues. I take 50mg of Atenolol each day. My heart rate fluctuates between 58 and 64 as it did before I became sick. This worked for me. Stayed tough good luck...
Stress level yes, Heart rate no
Yes I take metoprolol for it twice a day. 🤗
Does stress cause your heart rate to spike with MS?
Yes, many people with MS experience heart rate spikes related to stress. MS affects the autonomic nervous system, which controls involuntary functions like heart rate. This can lead to heart palpitations, especially when you're tired or stressed out.
