Members connected over the frustrating question of butt, sit bone, and lower back pain when sitting or lying down with PPMS, with many sharing that they experience similar burning and neuropathic pain that makes car rides and everyday sitting nearly impossible. Several members shared helpful strategies, including gabapentin and duloxetine for nerve pain management, acupuncture to ease burning sensations, cannabis oil as a supplement, frequent position changes, and seat cushions. A recurring theme was the importance of identifying whether the pain is nerve, muscle, or bone-related before starting treatment, and that gabapentin side effects like drowsiness may lessen over time.

Yes you need to know the cause. I had various tests to rule out muscular/skeletal problems.
If you do start gabapentin again you may find the side effects wear off after a while.
Good luck Anui, let us know how you get on. Sorry for your pain 🫂💜

Thank you! I was advised to take gabapentin for foot parasthesia but one dose left me depressed and drowsy. If may help back sitting pain I will try again and work thru side effects. Waiting to see if they think nerve or back/muscle-bone pain.. maybe both. Best of luck to you. Glad you are doing better
