Regarding Allegra as a substitute for Benadryl — that's absolutely worth discussing with your doctor before your first injection. Since you already experience paradoxical excitation with Benadryl, your care team needs to know this so they can recommend the best antihistamine alternative for you.
Here are some general tips that MyMSTeam members have found helpful around infusion/injection days: - Hydrate well the day before and the day of your injection — this has been shown to help reduce reactions
- Plan a lighter day afterward in case fatigue hits
- Arrange a ride if you're taking any premedication that might make you drowsy
- Watch for injection site reactions like pain or swelling, which are common early on
Keep an eye out for signs of a reaction such as fever, chills, itching, or difficulty breathing, and contact your doctor right away if those occur.
Wishing you a smooth start tomorrow! 💪
