Myokines are cytokines, peptides, or small proteins (typically ~5–20 kDa) produced and released by skeletal muscle cells (myocytes) in response to muscle contractions.
Myokines show promising potential to help manage Multiple Sclerosis (MS) symptoms, mainly through exercise-induced release. They contribute to the benefits of physical activity in MS by reducing inflammation, supporting neuroprotection, and easing fatigue.

Look at you go, CR! All this technical, medical info-I love it!
@A MyMSTeam Member you mare correct. my PhD is in Biochemistry LOL
Oh wow @A MyMSTeam Member very interesting.
Do you research biologics? These are the same terms used in a lot of biologics
@A MyMSTeam Member
I have to credit Grok but I did take biochemistry and other science classes and did a nutrition fellowship at the VA years ago where I had to present about GLA and MS. I'm not @A MyMSTeam Member who probably has a PhD in biochem lol
The whole thing with Myokines is that I had to look up if muscles can teach the brain like Dr. Low, MD, said 65 years ago and "low " and behold he was right!
Thanks for sharing !Exercise is so important. Even a little bit on and off throughout the day adds up .
