Fatigue, pain, numb feet and legs, right foot flops down & turns on side. I have to scoot it instead of pick it up, tail bone pain, itchy scalp, brain fog, forgetfulness, urinary and bowel problems-accidents, back pain, but I'm not sure if that's from my back surgery or not. It's not necessarily in the same spot that I had the surgery. Thankfully no eye issues. I have restless leg syndrome. I also experience tingling in my legs and pens and needles. Welcome! It's completely understandable to wonder whether your symptoms are MS-related β it can feel like a puzzle sometimes. MS symptoms vary widely from person to person, but here are the most commonly reported ones:
- Fatigue β overwhelming tiredness that affects daily life
- Weakness β especially in the legs, which can feel heavy or like jelly
- Balance issues β difficulty staying steady or coordinating movements
- Vision changes β blurred vision, pain with eye movement, or vision loss
- Numbness or tingling β often in the limbs
- Cognitive changes β brain fog, memory issues, or difficulty concentrating
- Spasticity β muscle stiffness or uncontrolled muscle movements
- Bladder or bowel problems β urgency, frequency, or difficulty controlling either
- Pain β including muscle or nerve pain
No two people experience MS the same way, and symptoms can come and go or gradually worsen depending on the type of MS.
The most important step is to share everything you're experiencing with your neurologist β be as specific as possible. They can help determine what's MS-related and what might need further investigation. Don't hold back any details, even if something seems minor!
