Members with SPMS shared which disease-modifying therapies they are on, with Kesimpta, Ocrevus, Gilenya, and Tysabri being the most commonly mentioned options. Several members noted that while DMTs may not make you feel better, they are designed to slow progression, with one member pointing out that before DMTs existed, a diagnosis often led quickly to a wheelchair. A recurring theme was gratitude for still being mobile after decades of living with MS, along with encouragement to stay positive, keep working with doctors, and never give up.

I was on Gilenya for many years. Worked great until I moved to SPMS triggered by an annual flu shot in Oct. 2023

None of the DMTs are designed to make you better or feel better. They are only supposed to slow further progression. Before DMTs a diagnosis of MS usually just began a count down to when you would be in a wheelchair. I have been officially dx for 27+ years and am still on my feet! Gonna keep on keeping on!!

@A MyMSTeam Member, yes negativity brings negative results and can hinder your mental health. That’s why I stay positive as much as I can. Have a great day.

@A MyMSTeam Member same to you and I love your energy too. I don't believe in wallowing in things I have no control over, I've decided to trust in God and work with the doctors to get on the correct medication.
