Just to clarify, CAR-T and AHSCT are quite different things, so the AHSCT results in the reply above don't really answer your question.

There are some very early CAR-T trials in MS and the results so far are interesting, with some people showing improvements or stability. But the numbers are still very small, so it's much too early to know how well it will work. It's definitely still experimental.

I have not tried it . It sounds promising and hopefully it will be successful. If the FDA approves it , it will be covered by insurance.

The most researched stem cell approach for MS is autologous hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (AHSCT), which uses a person's own stem cells to essentially "reset" the immune system.

Here's what the research on AHSCT has shown so far:

- In one UK study of 271 people with MS, 94% had no relapses after two years
- After four years, 89% remained relapse-free
- Nearly 92% showed no worsening disability after two years
- A Canadian study found relapse rates dropped to zero after transplantation However, the risks are real and worth knowing about:

- The procedure requires chemotherapy to destroy the existing immune system first
- There is a small but serious risk of mortality
- Immune suppression can lead to serious infections

AHSCT is not yet FDA-approved for MS and is generally only recommended for aggressive MS cases. Participating in a clinical trial may be one way to access this therapy safely.
