Little story - I fought long and hard with my mother who couldn't understand and support my decision to become a vegetarian. All animals and critters run my heart. There was no way I was eating "meat" or a mistreated animal that was born, snatched from its mother too early only to be killed for softer "meat". I refused...I don't ask for special treatment when people invite over. I go for the sides
Now I have become more vegan...it is really hard here in Texas, Cali, my home state was easier.… read more

Members rallied around a post about struggling to meet calorie and nutrition needs as a vegan, offering compassionate and practical suggestions for someone dealing with low bone density and underweight concerns. Several members suggested vegan protein shakes and bars like Orgain and Aloha, vitamin B12 and B6 supplements, nuts, chia and flax seeds, protein-fortified cereals, and exploring vegan cookbooks and websites like Forks Over Knives and the Vegan Society. A recurring theme was the value of seeing a nutritionist for a personalized meal plan, with many members also gently encouraging small steps like adding tuna or salmon for extra protein.

Shannon, is there a Whole Foods or other natural grocery store in your area? go there and look at the vegan options-vegan "cheese," coconut and almond yogurt, vegan sausage, crumbles. Tabitha Brown does a nut meat that helped solidify her fame-we took to it right away. btw, from what you're saying, it looks like you don't eat a lot of particular foods b/c of texture/feel in your mouth and/or throat. I know more than a few people having the same issue.

@A MyMSTeam Member have you considered seeing a nutritionist ? They can make a custom meal plan for you , based on your food preferences. You can also try vegan protein shakes . My husband’s friend is a raw vegan , he eats lots of nuts , and shakes , and supplements.

Hi Shannon🙂I really think I know how you feel. I went from 190 lb maybe a little bit more down to 146 where I'm at right now. maybe there's good things that came out of it like the blood pressure and all that but I just lost so much muscle mass I got so skinny. my friends and family won't say it but I know they really think I look sick. so I think I know how you feel Shannon sometimes it just seems hopeless you're fighting a fight that you might not be able to win but you'll keep trying. ❤️💪🌞
