Being Yourself Is More Than Enough

Posted on May 14, 2018

"After years of feeling like I need to be better, stronger, healthier, and in control, I now know I am enough." -Member of MyMSTeam

Members of MyMSTeam experience the burden of multiple sclerosis physically, emotionally, and psychologically. Sometimes we strive to appear healthier than we are to avoid the stigma of MS. Other times, we experience relief and support from peers who've been in our shoes.

"I'm getting out of the rat race. I'm not hiding my struggles anymore. If I'm tired, I'm going to rest. Hearing from others with MS has taught me that I have to prioritize ME." -Member of MyMSTeam

Here are recent conversations from members on MyMSTeam:

"Can't get used to people being nice and helping me. It's not natural. I've not needed help before and it feels strange and unsettling... "

"HEY, A BIG shout out to the Universe, Back the Flip off. I’m putting your efforts on notice, I’m NOT giving in or giving up... "

"Having a good day today. In pain but I am able to handle it. Had a "50th" birthday recently and I have decided to just enjoy life and do things that make me happy and to get more involved with the MS society and not to be ashamed or embarrassed by the disease."

Have you found yourself striving to appear as though you have it all together? Have you discovered ways to surround yourself with others who make you feel that you are more than enough? Share what you've learned in the comments below or directly on MyMSTeam.com.

Absolutely!! I didn’t think of that!! But when I had all my teeth pulled, the surgeon perforated my upper left sinus. It took 2 years to heal & I still don’t have any teeth that work.🤷🏼‍♀️
