My name is Brittany. My story with multiple sclerosis started in September of 2019, when I was diagnosed four months after my wedding. I like to use a lot of tricks to really keep up with my cognition, which is something I severely struggle with. My life is a giant Post-it note. If I put pen to paper, my brain is going to remember what that task is rather than just saying, “Oh, I need to go get milk today,” so write it down.

That's what works for me. My calendars, everything, my Apple calendar, my post-its. I'll set reminders on devices to set off with alarms at different times of the day to remind me to either take my medication or take my vitamins, or even if it's just to feed the dog or feed the fish, so they're not croaking. If I could give a message to somebody living with MS, I would say some days are harder than others, but it's not unachievable.

Take it one day at a time. One step at a time. One breath at a time. You're going to be okay.
