I swim as the pain of moving doesn't seem as bad. Besides, I love to swim and can't wait for the summer.
Also, believe it or not, I weight train 6 days a week for pain management. When I lift weights (on a machine as I have no sense of balance or coordination), the full body pain I have lived with 24/7 for over 4 years is lessened from a 7-8 to a 4 for a day.
I love my wii fit system as well. They've stopped making new games though. Wish they had more advanced yoga and balance games. The Wii Fit helps so many people who struggle with disabilities of all kinds.
I also get a full body massage once a week, and my dr thinks THIS is why I'm not very spastic. So I DO recommend it for EVERYONE!
I exercise the Katrina tape that is from ms active force which was better for me than Baron. At least I didn't feel too exhaust. I tried the Zuma, they r too fast for me, if there was any slow one I would try it too. I need my body back, it has taken a toll of it. :( but then I can :) again cuz I am breathing still :D, ciao
Ah dancing. I miss that. We are going to take a few weeks vacation and wheelchair dance! Fun! I figure any movement is good movement if done safely but always check with the doc to be cleared for it. This actually goes for anyone. Aside from that we have two Wii systems and we alternate games in one and certain more physical in the other and though the motions are not huge or grand in comparison to another's I find it very beneficial and a good workout especially bowling or simple things like that. It never fails I feel it the next day and yet my arms never move more than a few inches. I do play wheelchair sports and you would think that's not exercise. I tell you the adrenaline factor works the heart so much it does benefit a lot. It's amazing how much a little can go a long way!
