I've noticed after reading the answers to the Tecfidera questions that about half of you have flushing, GI problems...among other things. The other half are doing ok. I just wish I knew what was the corresponding facts between the two groups.
Why some people did ok and others not so ok. Anyone here have anything to add?
I would have to say that like all treatments for MS, as a someone who was successful for a longtime with one and wishes she had never tried 2 others, 1 of which many have used for years with great success. It all depends on the person. I am currently on Tecfidera. I get some flushing. I am learning that as long as I take my last dose early enough and with a good meal, I'm good to go. If not, I sleep in a wet bed because I sweat all night! (I also eat a small frozen treat before bed and keep the house cool as always.) My GI issues are the opposite of those on the label. I went from almost daily watery stool to constipation which a good Greek Yogurt every other day seems to be keeping in check. That's me. I love pills and no more shots. I qualified for financial help from Biogen...always a plus. I can't say it will be the same for you, but I was at an end of the road situation with meds.
My doctor said the side effects will evidently go about after a couple of weeks
@tranquilrain, what is a "swank" diet?
I just started it. I take an aspirin and make sure I take it with food. I also eat according to the swank diet. that's what I do and so far so good
:-)
I was too.. I will take the flushing over shots any day of the week!!
