Does anyone notice that their head feels sore to touch? At times if I lay on the floor or a hard surface my head will feel sore, as if it is swollen inside.
Yes I have that symptom. Not all the time but I can reach up and touch my head and it will be very sore.
That's a new one to me. I'm sure you know this, but it might be worth taking this up with your doctor.
I now know what is causing the soreness and shooting pains. My neuro says it is due to an inflamed occipital nerve. There is a name for it but it escapes my MS brain. Usually they have to put a cortisone type injection in to settle it down. My Dr is sending me to a different part of the clinic for that.
@CaudiaJonesLatham I don't have it all the time either. I am pretty sure I had it before I was diagnosed. I am so used to ignoring my hurts and pains that I just never thought to mention it to my Dr. It came back couple of weeks ago so I 'll ask about it. Have you ever brought it up to your Dr?
I get the stabbing pains from time to time. Lately I have been getting a sharp pain on the top and back of my head. Sometimes it will last for days then go away. But the thing I was originally talking about is my head feels swollen and if I pressed it or laid on the back of my head it felt like what @ScambledEgg said. Like a bruise. I had it more before I was diagnosed. Oh, it's probably all in my head. Ha!
