I have vision loss due to ms. i get an annual hearing test and the last three have showed a loss of hearing in my right ear. just wondering if it could be ms that is affecting my hearing. Has anyone heard of this or suffer from hearing loss.
Leon, for the month prior to my diagnosis, I had severe vertigo. My ENT specialist confirmed that I have nerve damage in my right ear that caused my vertigo(and hearing loss). I was never clear if that month of vertigo was the start of the exacerbation that got me diagnosed the next month, but I'm getting to the point where I suspect MS for just about everything that goes on with me.
Robin your story is exactly how mine started. Vertigo, ENT, freaky tests, nerve damage, bam MS! I can't tell when it's MS or my natural lack of grace...
Hi, Yes ms can affect your hearing. I get it occasionally and I get ear aches. It doesn't seem to last long for me but maybe you should ask your Dr. about it.
I have had a really hard time hearing in the last 4 years or so. It's strange, I can hear that someone is saying something, I just can't pick up on what they are saying a lot of the time. I believe it is MS related, but I don't know for sure.
Yes, I've read that this can occur, and possibly even improve over time. I have a slight hearing loss, but the worst was the pain I had in the outside structure of my ears. Anyone have that?
