Have been on a roller coaster trying to start Wellbutrin. I was so sick, that for the past 2 nights I haven't taken it. Have been on it now for 4 weeks. Dr wants me to keep trying, and has just lowered the dosage. I am so frustrated, and feel so horrible. After 2 requests, she thinks I have too much time invested and wants me to try this half dosage to see if side effects ease. How long should I give the new dosage? Wellbutrin works great for me but I take it prn (only when I need to. When depression hits it hits hard--I reach for the wellbutrin take it for awhile then get off it might want to discuss trying that
I've been taking Wellbutrin and Cymbalta for several years with no problems. I'm not taking the meds for depression my Neurologist have me taking them along with Trileptal for the numbness, tingling, and burning in my legs, feet, arms and hands and it works
My Primary Dr. had me on Wellbutrin a while ago for depression. I didn't notice a change in my moods or whatever so I stopped taking it. Then he said it wouldn't be for me to notice a change in myself but more of a way for me to make better choices and decisions...a clearer head I suppose.
I didn't take it for long...and don't now. Of course I am mildly depressed! I have had MS for a long time, I no longer work, etc. Sadly it has become a part of my life. Good Days and Bad
Just heard from the dr. She says that I must be hypersensitive to the wellbutrin so has agreed to stop it and try something else. After 6 weeks of nausea every day, yeah...I'm ready to stop it. I do have a sensitivity to meds, and even antibiotics make me nauseous. (sigh) onward!
I have taken Wellbutrin for 23 years - never a side effect. It does take time to work; several weeks. I would consider your doctor's suggestion of cutting the dose and then building up slowly. Are you sure it's the Wellbutrin?
