I am just tired of the terrible painful flushing all of the time and severe bloating. Its only been 3 months but I'm fed up with it. These side effects should have been gone a while ago. I'm just tired of a medicine that makes me feel sick on top of everything else I am dealing with.

I started Gilenya in March and there are side effects of light sensitivity and migraine, but these are mild now and I accept them - since my MS symptoms which were severe, have faded and almost immediately. I take my pill once a day, in the evening and with food.

The difference between flushing and hotflashes? Well hotflashes I just get hot all over and flushing my whole body turns red and it feels like I'm sitting out in the sun and my skin is burning

@A MyMSTeam Member I am pretty sure you misunderstood what Albert and also myself were stating. Albert's doctor stated that ms medications do not relieve ms symptoms, but prevent relapses which is correct. Your statement was " since my MS symptoms which were severe, have faded and almost immediately." That is why we were saying that you are lucky since ms medications do take away symptoms, because that isn't what they are meant for. Your body must just be feeling better and maybe you are doing other regimens that make you feel better. We aren't trying to discourage you and I think you misunderstood what we were stating and maybe you weren't so clear yourself. We are all fighting this together so I would hope that you weren't taking what we said out of context.
