I have had double vision for over a month. Steroids offered me no relief so neuro sending me for prisms. I know nothing about them. How do the work? What do they look like? Will I have to wear them forever or will they help my brain adjust? Any info would be greatly appreciated.
When I was first diagnosed I was having trouble with my eyes. They progressively got worse. My neuro sent me to a specialist at the Cleveland clinic and he said he couldn't help me. My eyes felt like they were moving all over the place. I got to the point I didn't want to keep my eyes open. A year later I went to my local eye Dr. for an exam. He said he could help me by putting prisms in glasses. The first time I put them on I thought I was seeing things in HD. I loved them. They kept my eyes in place and, I could see better. You can't even tell they are there. I used to wear contacts, never did like glasses, but I don't mind now that I could see.
The machine they hook you upto can be used for many procedures. For donating platelets and other procedures.
For me they took out a certain white blood and returned my plasma.
Three days in, my eye sight improved.
