Do you feel emotionally detached sometimes? I used to be such a hands on, mushy, kissie, huggy mom and wife. Now I feel like I have to make myself hug or show affection. They will come up to me and hug me and I am telling myself in my mind 'put your arms around them and hug back' .
Anyone else?

@A MyMSTeam Member I disagree that they are normal problems. I really do believe it is part of the MS symptoms. Most of the time there is a change with your brain if there are changes inside the brain (disease, tumor, cancer, injury,) and there can be personality changes. Yes when we are diagnosed there is an adjustment to the life altering diagnosis, but I believe this is different. I have 2 family members who had things involving their brain, and their personalities have changed directly d/t what happened to them. One had a brain tumor removed, the other had a fall. We have damage done to parts of our brain, lesions and scar tissue that I believe alters our mood and feelings. They have proven that MS alters our cognitive process when there is damage. We are also taking meds that alter our mood.

Yes I feel the same way. It's funny that you are asking this because I have just been becoming aware of this feeling. I also am a huggy person. Also my daughter says I have become more abrupt when I talk with people and she says I was never that way. She says she doesn't want people to think I am that way, because I'm not. I find myself less patient and tolerant with situations. Like it is too difficult to handle things mentally.

Me to @A MyMSTeam Member and @A MyMSTeam Member I knew what you meant. I keep fighting my mood swings and it is getting tiresome too. My Patience is short too. I keep praying for guidance on how to deal with all this. Glad to read all the response. Hugs everyone.

I agree with everyone who responded. , in my head and heart I want to be that person I was because I have 2 boys who are 9 and 11 and a very supportive boyfriend but it's almost like I am stuck in this spinning tornado like feeling and can't get out of my own way to make my loved ones feel the love I have for them and it makes me really sad because we are all missing out ...
