Other than a bit of blurry vision I’ve been lucky enough to not have issues with my eyes with this forgiving disease. However; recently I have been seeing “flashes” of light in the lower corner of my left eye. Just last week I noticed it in my right eye. I do have an Ophthalmologist appointment late November but like … what can they do?

Members responded with care to someone experiencing flashing lights in the corners of their eyes, with many urging them not to wait and to call their doctor right away to describe the symptoms and ask for a sooner appointment. Several members shared their own experiences, including MS-related flashes that resolved on their own, vitreous detachment from aging, and one member whose husband was diagnosed with a retinal tear after similar symptoms. A recurring theme was the importance of getting evaluated quickly, since flashing lights can sometimes signal something serious, along with warm emotional support for the exhaustion of living with MS.

This happened to me one time over the phone to tell you to go to the emergency room because potentially it could be retinal detachment, but in reality, it was a vitreous detachment due to simply getting older.

It was flashing of lights and also a dark floater in my eye when I looked around That is the symptoms that could be something serious. If you don’t have the floater, it might be less potential of being serious but call and talk to your doctor and they’ll tell you whether you need to hurry up and get looked at.

Or talk to aNurse.

I think the ER is a bit dramatic for my case @Tiffany226 and @A MyMSTeam Member I honestly don’t care when I get in … I can see - just the flashes are new and I have those grey floaters from time to time. I’m just exhausted from smiling on the outside while fighting the MonSter inside. Impending doom feels …
