Everyone, don't forget, not everybody is your friend. Vast majority of people who we encounter are mainly acquaintances.

Yes, feeling disconnected or disassociated is something many people with MS experience. This can be related to the emotional and psychological impacts of living with MS, including feelings of isolation and changes in identity.

Some MyMSTeam members have shared feeling detached or disconnected, especially when dealing with major life changes following their MS diagnosis. This is a normal response as you adjust to living with MS. If you're experiencing these feelings, here are some helpful strategies:

• Connect with others through video calls to maintain face-to-face connections
• Schedule regular check-ins with friends and family
• Share your feelings with trusted people who understand
• Consider speaking with a mental health professional who specializes in MS-related challenges

Remember that emotional changes are a recognized part of MS, and seeking support is an important step in managing these feelings.

Thanks BarbM but that's not the case with me; my childhood friend didn't really know my family at all. Furthermore, my needs changed and I changed also; I don't watch horror movies anymore, I was working on a career (never happened due to unknown reasons plus MS symptoms came around), I like quiet things and most importantly, I matured year after year when she didn't.

@A MyMSTeam Member sometimes someone you thought was a friend for 20 years turns to only have been your friend when they felt they could control you.

I just find myself wanting to just be at home. It's where I feel most comfortable and safest.
