Members responded to a question about hair loss without medication in MS, with many sharing that they too have experienced ongoing hair thinning and finding comfort in not being alone. Several members shared that thyroid, hormone, and vitamin levels are worth testing, and some noted that vitamins B and D seemed to help, while others linked their hair loss to medications like Copaxone and Tecfidera. A recurring theme was confusion and frustration from doctors dismissing the symptom, with members encouraging each other to keep advocating for answers.

I take vit D but not extra B ( I take a multi Vit) I was going to ask my doctor to test me for vit and mineral deficiency.

Lots of drugs have the side affect of hair loss, the new one I am supposed to be starting, does... or at least the MS nurse says so. I havent read about it yet, so I will check with the manufactures list of side affects. As for hormones I have had mine tested several times and they all fall in the normal range. I have been trying to get answers from professionals, its not CHEMO or HORMONAL for me, I am looking to see if anyone else is in the same boat and if they have any suggesting for something else it might be.

Going on copaxone makes me nervous because I am already losing hair without drugs.

I was on Copaxone for 10 years and lost a lot of hair. I've been off it for over 2 years now and a lot of my hair that was lost over the years has grown back.
