I have occasionally found that the tip of my tongue feels numb or like it is burned. I have even sensed that it effects my ablily to taste. Is this an MS symptom that is common? Maybe it is not MS related. Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this. Thanks!
Sometimes it is hard to pronounce words with sounds that require the tongue...like words with an "L" sound in the middle....which is not good because my major is in moLecuLar and ceLLuLar biology!
Was part of my first exacerbation. I had a cerebellar pons lesion. I had vertigo, and balance issues. Years later in medical school, I learned about the anatomy of the brain and discovered that right where my lesion was .... There were a ton cranial nerves at the same site including the ones responsible for taste. I remember it was the least favorite Thanksgiving ever, I couldn't tell the difference. Between sweet or salty. Thankfully I regained all my taste, and reversal of most of the symptoms, without steroids and been pretty darn healthy for the last twenty years.
Yes, kinda thickness of tongue steals my ability to speak well.
This happens to me as well. It's one of the symptoms that comes and goes and sometimes lasts for weeks and other times will only last a day or so. Right now my tongue isn't numb, but my sense of taste is WAY off. I have also had times that my tongue will be so numb it's as if I've had a lot of dental work done, but that level of numbness will last for days instead of a couple of hours. Good news is, it always goes away....eventually.
Yes it was on of my first symptoms... Like a drank coffee and burnt my tough. It will be a year April 1st that it been like this. I can still taste tough
